The Church.

How mysterious… Even though hotel-restaurant The Church is located in the middle of Arnhem’s fashion district, you have to take a moment to find it. Once inside this hidden gem, you are speechless for a moment at first. The iconic entourage of the former Lutheran church building overwhelms you with a heavenly stimulation of all your senses. What was once a Lutheran church has been masterfully transformed into a divine hotspot.

Eight hotel rooms float in the air, the middle section of the church is filled with an entire open kitchen where you can also dine. Quality and hospitality come together here.

It is a place where Janiek van den Broeck & Bart Leussink’s dreams have become reality.

About Janiek & Bart

In Bart’s kitchen, there is a lot of cooking with fish and seafood, lots of fresh flavours and pure preparations. Quality of the product comes first and if there is a preparation, it should evolve the product/dish.

I was born and grew up in Ruurlo, my parents or family don’t really have any affinities with the hospitality industry yet from a young age I was really only into cooking and baking. Therefore, I was determined to find a side job in the hospitality industry at a young age. Through word of mouth, I entered the Garden Room in Ruurlo, an artisanal kitchen with classic French cuisine. From the first moment I stepped into the kitchen, I felt that this was what I felt at home and where my passion lay. I have actually always worked at a high level and the colleagues and work mentality attracted me the most in that, everyone is all ready to get the maximum out of themselves to take care of the guests in the best possible way.

The thing I was taught from a young age by my parents is that if you want something you have to work for it. In fact, this has always been my life motto and I am a firm believer that if you do something with complete abandon and give it your all, the impossible is possible.

For example, sometimes I would find that I couldn’t do something very well or didn’t quite manage to do it, then I would go to my mother’s house at night after work and raid the refrigerator to practice until I could do it, and then I would make sure I could do it the next day.

In my personality and cuisine, honest and pure are central. Pure in the standards and values but also in the flavors and honest as in the products should speak for themselves and everyone should be able to say and think what they want.

This is the reason that The Church choose Annoncer

We chose Annoncer because we have a fully open kitchen. We work with large menus, from 6 till 12 courses. The waiters and chefs serve dishes to guests partly at the kitchen bar. Annoncer makes it clear and insightful for our team to know where the dish should go or how far the guest is in the menu. This gives me a more relaxing state of mind.

3 questions to Bart about Annoncer.

What is your favorite functionality regarding Annoncer and why?

The automatic addition per portion is very clear for the boys, so they can immediately see at a glance how much of each dish still has to go and the exceptions to this.

What has Annoncer done for you?

Annoncer provided a stable base from day 1 for our start-up, without Annoncer we would not have had nearly as much peace of mind and overview during our service.

What would you like to tell someone who is thinking about purchasing Annoncer for his/her restaurant?

You are definitely not going to regret it, once you have worked with it for a week you will never want to do anything else.

About the collaboration.

We will be happy to inform you about what Annoncer could do for you.
