Restaurant ÄNG.
Restaurant ÄNG opened in 2019. They work mainly with what can be found outside their door and refine it to perfection. Many of the ingredients in its dishes are picked fresh every morning from nearby forests, beaches and fields. The organic Scandinavian Ästad wines in our cellar are produced just 100 metres from the restaurant.
The heart of Restaurant ÄNG lies in the Halland landscape. They can combine cultures and cooking techniques from all over the world, but they don’t leave home. This thought – or limitation – drives them to constantly discover new ways to create innovative culinary experiences for its guests, this always on a sustainable basis.
For her guests, the local environment should not only be experienced through what you get on the plate, but they also try to work with the environment visually. The evening begins in a glass house with 360-degree views of lakes and beech forests – and continues underground to the wine cellar, lounge and dining room. Contact with nature is essential to the ÄNG experience.
- In 2021, the restaurant received its first Michelin star, as well as the green star for ÄNG’s meticulous work on sustainability.
- In 2022, Executive Chef Filip Gemzell received the Swedish award: Chef of the Year in Gastronomic Sustainability.
